The town is bustling with elections, cattle drives, promises of a railroad, and murder! Horace Grimsby, the wealthiest Cattle Baron in Texas, has been found dead and it’s up to Marshal Jim Courtright to bring the killer to justice.
Did the Mayoral nominee Roger “Rooster” Montebank get involved in an election scandal? Could the lead reporter for the International Inquisitor, Barbara Wawas, have made her own headlines? Perhaps Buster Beggs, the gentle sheep herder, was bullied by the bull king one too many times. Or was his wife, Emma Grimsby, tired of marriage and looking to get rich quick?
Cast of Characters
Marshal Jim Courtright – The steady rock in this field of crazy characters, this likeable peace officer will have to lay down the law if he’s ever going to figure out who killed Horace Grimsby.
Roger "Rooster" Montebank – Cock-a-doodle-doo! Rooster is running for Mayor and he wants you, your mom, and your mom’s poodle to know all about it. This boisterous politician may not be the smartest man in town, but he sure knows how to crow the loudest.
Barbara Wawas – Extra! Extra! Barbara has big dreams of being a legitimate reporter, but for now she will settle for any story she can get. After all, any publicity is good publicity.
Emma Grimsby – Mrs. Grimsby is used to getting what she wants, when she wants it, and does not take "no" for an answer. Does the sole member of The Suppression of Obscene Literature have secrets she is desperate to keep hidden?
Buster Beggs – This tender sheepherder is known for his love of animals and singing what’s on his heart to anyone who will listen. But as the saying goes, “All is fair in love and Sheep War.”
