2009 Holiday Show - "Dismay in a Manger"

Hark! The sounds of the holiday season are dancing upon the evening air. Christmas Carols being sung by a choir, sleigh bells ringing on the horses passing by, and fighting in the town square. What!? Oh no, apparently there is “dismay in a manger” at the annual Christmas Pageant rehearsals. This year’s pageant is going to be a doozie! Mayor Rufus Yates has written this horrible holiday havoc and he’s cast this show in a manner that has everyone wanting to hang him --or worse. Marshal Courtright, who has the acting skills of a goat, has been cast as Joseph. Miss Holly, owner of “Miss Holly’s House of Happiness”, has been cast as Mary – which could be very bad for her business. The stage coach driver, Jubal, is cast as a wise cracking, talking donkey intent on delivering his message about the gross inaccuracies in the script. Mrs. Carolyn Yates, the town’s ladder climbing socialite, has been cast as Mary Magdalene – a roll that could doom her standing with the “The League of Social Engineers and Foreign Domestics Social Book Club and Social Gardening Society”. Our Reverend Rudolph has been assigned the task of directing this pageant which is nuttier than a fruitcake and he is very reluctant to get involved!
Was Mayor Yates trying to roast more than chestnuts when he assigned the roles to this cast of Wild West misfits? Perhaps he was attempting to deliver his own Yuletide ultimatum with this preposterous pageant? His outlandish interpretation of the Christmas story is destined to ruin more than one reputation. It seems the Mayor is trying to tell someone you cannot run from your past, especially if it just arrived on the last stagecoach. Only one thing is certain…someone has taken the Mayor “out” in the outhouse, and it’s up to you to find out whom.
So join our perilous pageant posse and help our hero, Marshal Jim Courtwright, sort through his list of who’s been naughty or nice. This is one interactive murder mystery dinner experience that will put the “Ho Ho Ho” into your Holidays!
